Air Bump Stops are engineered to absorb the hardest hits that the trail or a dune can throw at your vehicle! Air bumps act as a traditional poly or rubber bump stop will, to prevent the suspension from bottoming out, but hydraulic bump stops also aid in softening the final 4" of suspension compression.
When the vehicle is sitting at its static height, the air bump will rest away from the bump stop pad, fully extended. As the suspension is compressed the bump stop pad will engage with the air bump and the bump stop will slow the compression of the suspension to the point that the bump stop is fully compressed; at which point it will then act as a solid bump stop. When the suspension then returns to a static state the air bump extends back out to its expanded state. The amount of resistance can be adjusted through the amount of nitrogen/air pressure inside the bump stop. See the Technical Information page for more Air Bump Information.
Bump stop sleeves are designed to provide a mounting point for the air bump stops to the frame of a vehicle. The unique mounting method does not allow Bump stop to blow through the canister. Mounting sleeve has a machined step to prevent sleeve from clamping down on Bump stop after welding as well as a anti-rotation pin hole is incorporated into Bump stop sleeve.
