Spyder customs rear Stinger bumper is a unique, trail ready addition
for any Jeep prepared to challenge the big rocks. The Rear Stinger
acts as a
tire carrier that can hold up to a 40" tire, defends Jeep from rear impacts,
and can be used as a wheelie bar to help prevent rear rollovers. |

The unconventional Rear Stinger bumper pivots from the lower cross member
downward to expose the tire mount. Having the spare tire access closer to
the ground makes large spare tire retrieval and removal easy. Rear Stinger
carriers are attached at four points, and isolated by urethane bushings to
assure a rattle free ride. Additionally the Stinger kit accommodates both
5 on 4.5" and 5 on 5.5" bolt patterns, 6 on 5.5" and 8 on 6.5" mounting
plates can be requested at an additional cost. |

One of the most apparent attributes to the rear Stinger, is its highly improved departure angle. A common problem with the factory or conventional swing-out tire carriers is snagging the rear tire during off road situations, resulting in damaging the tailgate or stopping forward progress off your Jeep. The rear Stinger can be utilized as a skid to assist in the prevention of both situations, and can allow your Jeep to recover from a potential rear roll-over. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Rear Stingers come complete with two 7/8" diameter D-shackle mounts welded
onto the lower frame member. In combination with provided frame support brackets,
D-mounts gives your trail Jeep two solid recovery points. Rear cross member
section, mounting brackets and rear skid plate are built from a combination
of 1/4" and 3/16" plate, the remaining tubular sections are formed
from 1.75", .120 wall. Rear Stinger kits come welded and assembled with
the exception of the
tire mount, upper supporting arms, license plate mounts and CB antenna tab. |

| Frame brackets comprised of 1/4" steel plate and 1/2" hardware are included with rear Stinger bumpers. Brackets support and reinforce the rear cross member and frame junction to ensure strength and rigidity during a recovery pull or lower trail impact. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Tire carrier is also secured at the body tub's rear corners with upper brackets that mimic the curvature of the Jeep body tub. This upper bracket also supports the disconnect pins that couple the main body of the tire carrier to the Jeep. The upper bracket also includes provisions for a CB antenna. It is strongly recommended that Jeeps with rear Stinger carriers utilize Crusher corners, Trail corners or a body supporting equivalent. This will help support the rear body tub in the event of a rear impact. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The outer corner brackets accompany an internal brace for Jeep TJ's that slides beneath the cage foot and tie to the outer mounts to insure a solid and supported junction. This bracket is only available for 1997 to 2006 Jeep Wranglers, it is not an option for Jeep YJ's or CJ's. This bracket is optional and does not automatically come with the TJ Stinger kit. |

Also offered as an option to the Rear Stinger is a pair of weld on license plate relocation tabs, which will aid in keeping you license plate visible. |

Available separately from the rear Stinger kits are the rear frame support brackets. These are useful in adding additional frame support when recovery points are located on the rear bumper. Often a quick tug from behind is enough to tweak an unsupported rear cross member, the Frame Support brackets are a quick and simple solution. |
